President & Chief Executive Officer
Mike Steele has served as President and Chief Executive Officer of Kirkpatrick Oil Company since December 2006. He joined the Company in 1994 as Gas Contracts Manager, and later served as Land Manager. Mr. Steele began his career in the oil and gas industry as a field Landman in 1977. He joined Tenneco Oil Company in 1979 as Senior Landman where he worked until 1982, with responsibilities that included Kansas and northwest Oklahoma. Following his employment at Tenneco, Mr. Steele was Land Manager for Joseph B. Singer Oil Company until he joined Kirkpatrick. After high school, Mr. Steele enlisted in the Uinted States Marine Corps, served in Viet Nam with the 11th Marines and received and Honorable Discharge as a non-comissioned officer (E4) in 1972. He then attended and graduated from the University of Oklahoma with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Petroleum Land Management in 1976. He is a member of the Oklahoma City Association of Professional Landmen (OCAPL), the American Association of Professional Landmen (AAPL), the Independent Petroleum Association of America (IPAA), the Downtown Rotary Club of Oklahoma City, and serves on the board of directors for the Oklahoma Independent Petroleum Association (OIPA).
Vice President & Chief Financial Officer
Cindy A. Kyle joined Kirkpatrick Oil Company in 2009 and currently serves as Vice President and Chief Financial Officer responsible for accounting, human resources, risk management, and information technology. Ms. Kyle has more than 30 years of experience in financial analysis, accounting, and planning/forecasting in the oil and gas industry. She began her career with Kerr-McGee Corporation and held various domestic and international accounting manager positions in both the oil/gas and chemical companies. Ms. Kyle graduated from the University of Oklahoma with a Bachelor of Business degree in Accounting. She is a Certified Public Accountant and currently serves as a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
Vice President – Operations
Mike McGinnis joined Kirkpatrick Oil Company in 2013 and currently serves as Vice President – Operations. Mr. McGinnis has more than 34 years of experience as an engineer in the oil and natural gas industry holding various engineering and supervisory positions. He has worked on a broad spectrum of exploration and production projects at Tenneco Oil Company, John E. Chance & Associates, Union Pacific Resource, and Range Resources. Prior to joining Kirkpatrick, Mr. McGinnis spent nine years at Chesapeake Energy working as an Operations Manager. Mr. McGinnis graduated from Penn State University earning a Bachelor of Science in Petroleum and Natural Gas Engineering. He also received a Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics from Saint Vincent College and is an active member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) and the Oklahoma Independent Petroleum Association (OIPA).
Alison Cadena joined Kirkpatrick Oil Company in 2008 and currently serves as Land Manager. The daughter of a Landman, Ms. Cadena spent her school summers and holidays working in and learning about the oil and gas industry. Upon college graduation, she trained at Kirkpatrick in lease records, division orders, and other facets of land work while being exposed to activities in all departments, thereby working her way up to a management position. Ms. Cadena graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree from Oklahoma State University in 2008. She is currently a member of the American Association of Professional Landmen (AAPL), the Oklahoma City Association of Professional Landmen (OCAPL), and the Oklahoma Independent Petroleum Association (OIPA).
Nichole Buckner joined Kirkpatrick Oil Company in 2009 and currently serves as Exploration Manager. Ms. Buckner has 11 years of experience in the oil and natural gas industry throughout the Mid-Continent as well as the Permian and Williston Basins, with responsibilities ranging from geologist to log analyst and reservoir engineering. She has worked on a broad spectrum of exploration and development projects for Schlumberger, SandRidge Energy, and Kirkpatrick Oil Company. Prior to joining Kirkpatrick Oil Company, Mrs. Buckner was a Geologist for SandRidge Energy. Mrs. Buckner graduated from the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill with a Bachelor of Science degree in Geology in 2001. She also holds a Master of Arts degree in Science Education obtained in 2003. She is a member of the American Association of Petroleum Geologists (AAPG), the Oklahoma City Geological Society (OCGS), and the Oklahoma Independent Petroleum Association (OIPA).
