Mike Steele Steps Down After 25 Years at the Company 


OKLAHOMA CITY, OKLAHOMA – September 10, 2018 – Kirkpatrick Oil Company announced Cindy Kyle, Vice President and Chief Financial Officer at Kirkpatrick Oil Company, took over as President & CFO as of September 1, 2018, following Mike Steele’s retirement from the company after 25 years of service. Kyle joins the ranks of an exclusive group of women presidents to lead an oil and gas company.

“The vision of Kirkpatrick Oil Company’s Chairman, Christian Keesee, is to grow the company not only through the drill bit, but through acquisitions and investments. I know we have the perfect team in place to achieve this,” said Kyle. “Our employees at Kirkpatrick Oil Company are seasoned and we have a great team of people to move this company forward. The opportunities are wide open for us and I’m very much looking forward to this new chapter at Kirkpatrick Oil Company.”

Steele doesn’t consider this next chapter as retirement and intends to stay active in the industry. “Kirkpatrick Oil Company has been a rewarding place to work and I thank Christian Keesee for placing his trust in me to lead the company. I wish Cindy, the company, and its employees nothing but the best in the coming years,” said Steele. “I’m looking forward to the next phase of my life, both personally and professionally.”

Cindy Kyle joined Kirkpatrick Oil Company in 2009 and previously served as Vice President and CFO responsible for accounting, human resources, risk management, and information technology. Kyle has more than 30 years of experience in financial analysis, accounting, and planning/forecasting in the oil and gas industry. She began her career with Kerr-McGee Corporation and held various domestic and international accounting manager positions in both the oil/gas and chemical companies. She is a graduate from the University of Oklahoma with a Bachelor of Business degree in Accounting. She is a Certified Public Accountant and currently serves as a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Independent Petroleum Association of America (IPAA).
